There was plenty of paddling action at the recent 2020 National Canoe Slalom Age Championships at the Upper Mersey Whitewater course.  The event featured the very best of Australia’s slalom paddlers with the competition offering entries for a range of ages including Junior’s and Master’s events. The weather was pretty terrific (mostly), the water was always flowing and the people came and enjoyed one of Tassie’s very best whitewater courses.

A big shout out to all of the people who helped to make this event such a great success – the officials, judging, rescue team, catering crew, first aid, compiling, set up/dismantling and the big clean up-  every one of you is a legend!

Paddle Tasmania would like to thank its sponsors without which these races could not take place: Hydro Tasmania; the Tasmanian State Government through Events Tasmania and Communities, Sport and Recreation, Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Services; and, the Tasmanian Institute of Sport.  The 2020 event is organised in partnership with Paddle Australia (PA).

We have attempted to upload at least one photo or video footage for every paddler into a Dropbox folder but please let us know if we’ve missed anyone and we will rectify that asap. You should be able to access the folder via the following link.
