Safety notification for visitors to Lake Rowallan and Lake Parangana

Hydro Tasmania and the Tasmanian Fire Service wish to advise any visitors to Lake Rowallan and Lake Parangana to take particular care when accessing the waterways.  The recent substantial fires in the area have resulted in additional timber debris in these lakes. This area has significant tall timber stands and  post fire very unstable ground conditions. This has led to an increased risk of falling trees and tree limbs, so please exercise caution along the shorelines especially where there are visible signs of direct fire damage.  Look up and avoid sheltering under trees, especially if there is rain or wind.  Slow down and be safe.
