A Sea Kayaking Instructor Course will be held on June 13-14 at Narawntapu National Park – the eastern end (Badger Head).
This course is for people who wish to instruct sea kayak skills and lead trips. The course is suitable for people who hold the AC Sea Kayak Skills Award or have an equivalent level of skill, knowledge and experience.
The course covers all aspects of leadership and instructing, including a range of methods of instructing, risk management, group management, rescues, planning, briefings and communication systems.
A Sea Kayak Skills Course will be held on Sunday, June 14, in conjunction with the sea kayak instructor course. The course will include instruction and a trip. The day is free for members of Canoe Tasmania affiliated canoe clubs (Tamar, Tas and Derwent), with a $30 fee payable by non-club members.
Participants in both courses are expected to provide their own sea kayak and paddling gear. A list of what to bring and further information about the course will be provided on receipt of the enrolment form and fees.
