The Tasmanian Schools Whitewater Championships will be held at the Forth River Canoe Course on September 29-30. This weekend has an emphasis on fun and participation. The weekend commences with a social river trip from Paloona to the canoe course. Downriver racing and slalom events comprise the competitons and these are suitable for novice paddlers. Despite the flood damage sustained by the canoe course, a modified slalom event will still be held.
Entries prior to the day are encouraged, however entries will still be taken on Saturday morning. A single fee covers race entry, camping and Saturday night BBQ for competitors. For non-competitors staying at the course, there is a $10 charge that covers camping and the BBQ.
Families are encouraged to come and camp for the weekend.
