PADDLE TASMANIA CONDUCT BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED WHITEWATER PACKRAFTING COURSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.  GENERALLY INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED COURSES ARE RUN IN THE NORTH-WEST OUT OF THE ARM RIVER OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTRE whilst BEGINNER COURSES ARE LIKELY TO BASED OUT OF HOBART. ALL COURSES FOCUS HAVE A STRONG EMPHASIS ON RIVER SAFETY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED COURSES WILL BE RUN BY Paddle AUSTRALIA WHITEWATER INSTRUCTORS AT A MAXIMUM RATIO OF 1:4 WHILST BEGINNER COURSES AT A MAXIMUM RATIO OF 1:6. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF IN-WATER PRACTICAL COMPONENTS AND ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SESSIONS INVOLVING CAPSIZES PLUS SWIMMING AND WADING IN MOVING WATER (WETSUITS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED OR DRYSUITS IF AVAILABLE).
