The Australian Wildwater MensTeam – all Tasmanian – finished in 5th place in the World Championships team event last night. Dan Hall, Ben Maynard and Mathew French finished just ahead of long term rivals Great Britain to claim fifth place.
This ranks Australia (or Tasmania) as the fifth best wildwater nation in the World behind the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany and France.
In the World Rapid Sprint Championships, Dan Hall finished 13th with a fast second run and Ben Maynard finished 29th with two very consistent runs. Dan’s result is the equal best result by an Australia male at the World Championships.
Carol Hurst competed in the International Masters Race associated with the World Championships, finishing second behind Great Britain team member Tina Parsons.
